Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
We build a privacy product, so this policy is held to the same standard we ask you to hold the product to: collect the minimum, say plainly what happens to it, and make it easy to verify.
What this website collects
- Nothing, directly. There are no accounts, no forms, and no cookies. The site sets no cookies and makes no third-party requests. Every asset is served from crystor.com.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (DreamHost) keeps standard web-server access logs: IP address, requested page, timestamp, and browser user-agent. We use them only for security and debugging, and they rotate out on the host's standard schedule.
What we don't do
- No analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No advertising, and no selling, renting, or sharing of any data with anyone.
- No newsletter and no marketing email. We don't have your address.
Downloads and source code
Downloads and the source repository are hosted on GitHub. When you follow those links, GitHub's own privacy policy applies to what GitHub sees (which is why we tell you here).
The Crystor application
This policy covers the website only. The Crystor app runs on your own machine. What it sends anywhere, if anything, is documented in the app itself and in the source repository, where you can check the claims against the code.
Changes
Changes here will update the date above; we won't quietly expand what's collected. If a future service (accounts, sync) collects more, it will get its own policy before it ships.
