"What did I pay in taxes last year?" is a question for your files, and answering it shouldn't require handing a model your whole document library. Crystor indexes everything on your device and answers through a local MCP server.
The AI you already use (ChatGPT, Claude, or a local agent) asks, and Crystor passes through the pages that answer, nothing more. The log shows every exchange, and you can revoke any AI at any time.
